The Utah Republican declared he will not rest until Congress passes the SAVE America Act to require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before anyone can register to vote in federal elections. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not going away. I\u2019m not going away. I will be back on this floor, in this chamber, day after day, week after week, month after month, as long as it takes. I\u2019m. Not. Giving. Up,\u201d Lee thundered.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He framed the fight as a defense of the American dream itself, warning that letting non-citizens vote steals a fundamental right from American citizens.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThis is about the American dream. This is about the fact that when you allow noncitizens to vote, you are robbing something from the American people \u2014 something which is distinctively, rightfully, theirs,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Lee made clear there will be no compromise on the core principle: \u201cWe must not tolerate it \u2014 and we will not.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The SAVE America Act, reintroduced this year with Rep. Chip Roy, would slam the door on non-citizen voting by mandating hard proof of citizenship and adding photo ID requirements for voting. After years of open borders and lax enforcement, conservatives see this as a long-overdue safeguard to protect the integrity of American elections and ensure that only citizens decide America\u2019s future.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
